Workshops are held in our lovely bright and comfortable classroom with customised workstations. The shop opens at 9.30am and classes start at 10am until 3.30pm for day classes and 10am until 1.00pm for half-day classes unless otherwise advised.   Tea, coffee and biscuits are available throughout the day but you will need to bring a packed lunch with you or, alternatively, there are several pretty cafes and tearooms in the immediate vicinity that can supply a sandwich or salad lunch.

Class and course bookings can be made in the shop, over the telephone or by post and we would ask that class payment be made at the time of booking. For your security, if paying by credit/debit card, please either call in or phone us with your details. A 10% discount will be given on only fabrics required for the class purchased from us and does not include any batting, backing or binding materials.

At times it may be necessary for us to cancel a class and in this event we would give you 10 days notice and a full refund. If you need to cancel a class run by either Gwen or Julia, we would require 10 days notice for us to give you a refund in the form of a Credit Note (less £3 administration). Less than 10 days and I’m afraid there will be no refund. In the case of classes run by teachers other than ourselves the class fee will be unrefundable unless the teacher cancels the class.

Beginner Classes
Six sessions £120

If you are a complete beginner to patchwork and quilting and would like to learn how, then join one of our Clubs. As a beginner we ask you to book six sessions in which we will take you through the process of making a patchwork quilt using rotary cutting and machine piecing methods. We will take you through each phase of quilt making so that in the end you will have a finished quilt.

NEW – Starting January 2018!

£30 for six months

10am until 12.30pm, come and spend the morning English Paper Piecing with like-minded people.  Not a class, but lots of ideas, help and advice.

365 Mondays – Last one will be December 2017!
Last Monday of each month

This is a less sewing session but definitely a “lets talk sewing” session.

Each month you will have a pattern for a small block which you can either hand sew in the traditional manner or if you wish, you can machine sew them together. The bonus is that if you make four little blocks and put them together the resulting square block shows off a hidden pattern. Beware – these can become addictive!

Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturday Club Days

If you have an on-going project which has ground to a halt or want to start something new but feel you will need a bit of support to complete it, then these sessions could be just what you are looking for. Gwen and Julia will be able to help and advise you with either your own on-going project or a new project during the morning and then, if you wish, the afternoon can be spent sewing with free use of our classroom.

Thursday Club Days

Wednesdays:-4th Oct, 1st Nov, 6th Dec, 3rd Jan, 7th Feb, 7th Mar

Price:  £120

This is a course of six – namely the first Wednesday of the month for six months.  Each month you will make two or three different six inch blocks (thirteen in total), which when combined with sashings and borders will measure approx. 38” x 38” – the perfect size for a wall-hanging to show off your sewing skills!  Each block will be of a traditional design and will be rotary cut and machine pieced, so this is an ideal course to review/refine your basic patchworking skills.
